About The Role:

This position works with a team of field survey crew members to complete a wide variety of survey projects.

Projects may include boundary, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, wetland, construction surveys and other types of surveys as clients require.

This is an outdoor position that will require you to be in areas ranging from right of ways, construction sites, agriculture sites, woodland sites, swamp, wetlands and everything in- between.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Learn basic measurements and calculations to record field data
  • Familiarize yourself with instruments and measuring devices
  • Assist Party Chief and other crew members with the daily workload
  • Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors
  • Operate survey total stations, data collectors and levels
  • Daily care and charging of survey instruments
  • Other field survey duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or acceptable equivalency (required)
  • Willing to train and develop personnel through on the job training, no prior survey experience required
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations
  • Strong desire to advance your knowledge and keep up to date with upgrades in technology
  • Ability to communicate technical information both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider (This is a condition of initial and continued employment) (required)
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions
  • This position may consist of standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending/stooping, reaching over head, repetitive motions, climbing (ladders, stairs, hills, etc.), wearing personal protective equipment, and driving a company vehicle
  • Ability to work overtime as required or travel out of town for work assignments
  • Office work may also be required on an as-needed basis
