About The Role:

As a Associate Surveyor, you are responsible for assisting in entry-level planning, execution and production of various types of product drawings and map substitutes from inception to completion with minimal supervision and direction

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Plan and ensure the execution of land surveys and other survey related
  • Interprets survey field notes to prepare certified boundary surveys, topographic surveys, right-of-way control surveys and other survey related documents
  • Process and verify the accuracy and sufficiency of collected
  • Provide feedback to assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology, and gather all necessary information needed to meet the survey requirements
  • Analyze and interpret technical information and/or property descriptions for surveying or related operations
  • Utilize Civil3D, Trimble Business Center and other industry related software as needed to complete projects
  • Help mentor less experienced Survey Technicians
  • Ensure that surveying and mapping products meet client standards
  • Understand and support Pickett’s safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent work experience in a civil engineering environment (required)
  • 1-4+ years of survey-related experience (preferred)
  • Surveyor in Training Certificate (SIT) (preferred)
  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider is a condition of initial and continued employment (required)
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and obey safety regulations at all times
  • Knowledge of the latest version of Civil3D and other surveying and mapping software
  • Proficient in running and adjusting various survey instruments including GPS equipment, levels, and robotic total stations with electronic data capabilities
  • Proficient in technical math, including Geometry and Trigonometry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, Trimble business center, GIS and GPS
  • Knowledge of survey and mapping principles, practices, standards, procedures and project management
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of photogrammetric mapping, LiDAR and other remote sensing
  • Must be highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet fixed deadlines on a timely basis and have the ability to work both as an individual contributor and within a team environment
  • Ability to travel as needed
